…but god James 1: 15-18
Transcript
“Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it has run its course, brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers and sisters. Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. In the exercise of His will He gave us birth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures.”
James 1:15-18 NASB2020
So often we only go to God in times of trouble. Way more often our prayers are prayers of supplication rather than adoration and thankfulness. I love that James explains God’s love for us this way “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above…” God wants what is best for us! He gives us good gifts. If we look for the good in things we will find it because God is always there and His love is immeasurable!
Therefore let us look at the scriptures that promote God’s faithfulness and His loving kindness. God is love and there is no end to His perfect and pleasing love.
“Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not arrogant. It does not act disgracefully, it does not seek its own benefit; it is not provoked, does not keep an account of a wrong suffered, it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; it keeps every confidence, it believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails…”
1 Corinthians 13:4-8.
“Beloved, let’s love one another; for love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love. By this the love of God was revealed in us, that God has sent His only Son into the world so that we may live through Him. In this, is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
1 John 4:7-10 And the most famous verses of all.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.”
John 3:16-17.
Let us give God thanks and praise for His perfect love which is the best and most perfect gift we have from Him!
Lord, we thank you for your loving kindness and your perfect gift of salvation. Help us to love more like you and be able see your perfect and pleasing will in all circumstances. We pray all these things In Jesus name Amen.
