…but god James 2: 18-23
Transcript
“But someone may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. But are you willing to acknowledge, you foolish person, that faith without works is useless? Was our father Abraham not justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected; and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called a friend of God.”
James 2:18-23 NASB2020
God calls us to work for Him. He did not say, now that you have salvation go sit back relax, be preached to, be sung to, take the bread, let me take care of everything for you! No he said; “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20 NASB2020
Go, make, and teach all action verbs. All those words take work, sacrifice diligence and resilience. They don’t just happen. But we have to start, we have to get up off our keisters and get in the game. We need to share the gospel through both our faith and love for we are running out of time! We don’t know when He’s coming back. We don’t know how long someone has. Remember the last thing Jesus said to His disciples “But He said to them, “It is not for you to know periods of time or appointed times which the Father has set by His own authority; but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth.”
Acts 1:7-8 NASB2020
Another action verb “witness”, how can we be His witnesses if we don’t speak up and out for Him through His perfect love. Remember it’s not by judgmental and Pharisitical words. It’s through the love of Christ and the power of His Holy Spirit.
Lord give us the words and actions of love to say and do with the spirit of meekness. Help us to die to ourselves and work for you. Through the power of The Holy Spirit. No matter what we are doing help it be a witness to those who do not know you. We praise and thank you with all our heart, mind, strength and soul. In Jesus Name we pray Amen…
Shalom Shalom blessings! Press In and Press On!
