…but god… Episode 191

2 Peter 1: 12-15

Transcript

“Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you of these things, even though you already know them and have been established in the truth which is present with you. I consider it right, as long as I am in this earthly dwelling, to stir you up by way of reminder, knowing that the laying aside of my earthly dwelling is imminent, as also our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me. And I will also be diligent that at any time after my departure you will be able to call these things to mind.”

2 Peter 1:12-15 NASB2020

We are always supposed to encourage one another. Peter understands that his brothers and sisters in Christ need to know that not only is God on their side but so too are our brothers and sisters in Christ.

As it says in Hebrews:“Let’s hold firmly to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let’s consider how to encourage one another in love and good deeds, not abandoning our own meeting together, as is the habit of some people, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”

Hebrews 10:23-25 NASB2020

Yesterday I made reference to a book I am reading and how I’m getting such encouragement in my faith through followers of Christ who are willing to lay down their lives for their faith. My dad had a great comment to my devotional yesterday and I thought I would share it with y’all!

Many of you know that my Dad Sir Robert Marcarelli has been all over the world bringing food, medicine and other necessities to refugees. They are refugees for various reasons from civil war to natural disasters. He explained to me;

“As you remember, my time in Iraq and other areas where believers were persecuted was most impacted by one thing above all. The faith of the faithful under extreme pressure and hatred to shine through the darkness.

I will never forget!”

Therefore, be encouraged to stand strong and be the follower of Christ He wants you to be!

Gracious and Awesome Lord we give thanks for you perfect gift of Grace.  We know that your gift should be manifested more in our lives. Give us strength to share your gospel and what the gospel has done in our lives. Help us to seek to serve you with our all! We pray that we can be encouraged by our brothers and sisters in Christ. We pray these things In Jesus Name Amen…

Shalom, Shalom blessings Press in and Press on!
