…but god… Episode 179
Transcript
“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time, having cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares about you.”
1 Peter 5:6-7 NASB2020
Whenever I have gone through a difficult time it is these verses that have given me a sense of peace. The creator of the universe cares about me. When I start to worry too much that I lose sleep or when I get upset about something I have no control over, it is these verses and those like it that console and give me peace.
There is a worship song called “turn your eyes towards Jesus.” These verses remind me of it. Here are the lyrics.
“O soul are you weary and troubled
No light in the darkness you see
There's light for a look at the Savior
And life more abundant and free
Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in his wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of his glory and grace
His word shall not fail you he promised
Believe him and all will be well
Then go to a world that is dying
His perfect salvation to tell
Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in his wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of his glory and grace
O soul are you weary and troubled
No light in the darkness you see
There's light for a look at the Savior
And life more abundant and free
Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in his wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of his glory and grace

Don’t let the things of the earth fester and bother you. Shine the everlasting light of Jesus upon those problems and allow Jesus to work in and through you! Jesus said don’t worry, cast your cares upon Him. You’re not meant to carry the burden alone. Allow for the, “But God,” moment because He is enough. So “Run to the Father and “Cast your cares upon Him,” because the creator of the universe cares for you.
Cody Carnes wrote a song called Run to the Father and it is one of my favorites. Here it is!

Lord we thank you that you care for us so much. Help us to call out to you, to run to you. Lord we cast all our cares to you, we run to you knowing that your open arms will carry our burdens. Thank you Lord!
In Jesus Name we pray!
Shalom, Shalom Blessings. Press In and Press On!
