James 3: 17

Transcript

“But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial, free of hypocrisy.”

James 3:17 NASB2020

How do we become lovers of peace, when even we Christians argue, rant and ghost others. Why are there so many different denominations? Why do we care about the small stuff when love conquers all? That love is Jesus Christ. That love died on the cross to save us from our sin and shame. Then He rose again and gave us eternal life with Him. Jesus said “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.”

Matthew 5:9 NASB2020

How do we know how to become lovers of peace? We must know how to love. Paul in his first letter to the Corinthians Chapter 13, vs 4-8 defines what love is, “Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not arrogant. It does not act disgracefully, it does not seek its own benefit; it is not provoked, does not keep an account of a wrong suffered, it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; it keeps every confidence, it believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails…

1 Corinthians 13:4-8…NASB2020

If we can understand and practice these things, then we can love like Jesus. We can’t change people’s hearts, only God can do that. God calls us to love, to be pure and to make peace. As His followers we must be all in. We cannot just choose to do what we like to do. God is not a vending machine or an Uber eats app…He is the Alpha and Omega, the Creator of the Universe! He asks us to truly follow Him! For some that is a lot to ask, and that might be true. But God, gave us the free gift of forgiveness of sin and eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven, and all we have to do is believe and follow Him. To me that is the greatest return on investment and I’m all in!

Therefore let’s be pure and peace-loving and be All In Together!

Lord, we love and praise you with all our heart. We are so thankful for your perfect free gift of forgiveness of our sins and eternal life with you. Help us to love more like you, so that others may see and know of your perfect grace and mercy. Lord change their hard hearts like you changed ours. Use us to glorify you always. We pray all these things in Jesus Name Amen…

Shalom, Shalom Blessings! Press in and Press on!
