…but god… Episode 203
Transcript
“But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found spotless and blameless by Him, at peace, and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you, as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which there are some things that are hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.” 2 Peter 3:13-16 NASB2020
What an amazing blessing; through Christ and his sufferings unto death on the cross, we are saved. He conquered death by raising from the dead and He left us The Holy Spirit that dwells in us, so that we can live a blameless and spotless life. Remember the words of Jesus “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you.” Matthew 6:33 NASB2020 T
he way we seek God is to know Him and we know Him by His words. As it states in Psalm 119 “How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word. With all my heart I have sought You; Do not let me wander from Your commandments. I have treasured Your word in my heart, So that I may not sin against You. Blessed are You, Lord; Teach me Your statutes.” Psalms 119:9-12 NASB2020
This is how we follow Christ through the power of The Holy Spirit. We must love unceasingly without judgment. Love is what the gospel is about. This is how we set a good example. Jesus explains this is how we become perfect as our Heavenly Father is perfect, “But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may prove yourselves to be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Even the tax collectors, do they not do the same? And if you greet only your brothers and sisters, what more are you doing than others? Even the Gentiles, do they not do the same? Therefore you shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Matthew 5:44-48 NASB2020 T
herefore, accept and believe the gospel, know His Holy word by meditating on it day and night and love unconditionally as Christ loved us, even though we were sinners. These are the ways we become followers of Christ, these are the ways we make plays for His eternal Kingdom.
Precious Lord, thank you for loving us. Help us to be better stewards of your love. Helps us to love more like you. Help us to rely on the power of your word and the power of your Holy Spirit to do as you have commanded us. We love you Lord and we pray all these things in Jesus Name Amen…
