…but god… Episode 195
Transcript
“For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, held for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; and if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example of what is coming for the ungodly; and if He rescued righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the perverted conduct of unscrupulous people (for by what he saw and heard that righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds), then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from a trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment, and especially those who indulge the flesh in its corrupt passion, and despise authority. Reckless, self-centered, they speak abusively of angelic majesties without trembling,”
2 Peter 2:4-10 NASB2020
Have you ever had an experience that brought your mortality into focus? One that made you realize, some day this life on earth may end and it very well may be at a time we don’t expect or want it to be. Aaron and I have both had those experiences in the last handful of years and we are thankful for the perspective it has given us as well. It changes how you prioritize things, for sure… as we look at today’s passage and other recent passages, especially in light of some of those new perspectives and priorities, we both feel it’s urgent that everyone who considers themselves to be Christian take to heart one simple idea… it’s time to wake up and get off the bench and get in the game! We have a job to do, we must share the gospel with all asap. Look at what is going on in Israel, Turkey and the Ukraine. Our days are fleeting! Our mortality experiences showed us that. When Aaron was at his worst he told Sharon he was ready for God to take him home! But God… was not, He has other plans! Are you ready if your time came? What about your friends and family are they ready. It is incredibly freeing to know where you are going when it ends here! Let’s get to work sharing the gospel because we are here for just a blip but we can help others spend eternity with The creator of the Universe because of what He has done for us! “And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes will have eternal life in Him. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.”
John 3:14-17 NASB2020
Lord we praise your Holy and merciful name! Help us to get in the game and share the good news without reservation, and with conviction and confidence in You and what you have done, are doing and will forever be doing in our lives. In Jesus Name Amen…
Shalom Shalom Blessings. Press in and Press on!
