…but god… Episode 194

2 Peter 2: 1-3

Transcript

“But false prophets also appeared among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. Many will follow their indecent behavior, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.”

2 Peter 2:1-3 NASB2020

We can be fooled so often by false prophets because they look good, they sound good and for the most part we don’t fact check their doctrine. If we don’t have a good sense of knowledge of the scriptures then we can be duped by these charlatans.

Oswald Chambers said this in “My Utmost for His Highest”: We tend to say that, because a person has natural ability, he will make a good Christian. It is not a matter of our equipment, but a matter of our poverty; not of what we bring with us, but of what God puts into us. The only thing of value is being taken into the compelling purpose of God and being made his friends. Gods friendship is with people who know their property. As Christians, we are not here for our own purpose, at all, we are here for the purpose of God, and the two are not the same.

Lord help us to seek you always and do your will always. Sharing your gospel always.
