…but god… Episode 157

1 Peter 2: 1-3

Transcript

“Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander, and like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation, if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.”

1 Peter 2:1-3 NASB2020

Now that we have let go of our fears and our worries we can now get rid of our negative attitudes that hurt not only each other but also our witness for Christ. That is what Peter’s therefore is there for. It is there to explain to us, if we have God’s love through the power of the Holy Spirit in us then we should be able to stop being so discouraging and spiteful. If we rely on the Holy Spirit we will also hunger for the Word of God every day just like a baby hungers for milk. Seek Him first, seek His word first, seek kingdom things first and He will bless you beyond measure. If we rely on ourselves there is no way we can do any of these things that God is asking us to do. We must rely on Him and the power of His Holy Spirit so that we can do as Jesus commanded us; “Therefore you shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

Matthew 5:48 NASB2020

Gracious Heavenly Father, we praise you and worship you with all we are. Thank you for eternal forgiveness. Help us to seek you first. Help us to love others and treat them the way we want to be treated. We pray all these things in Jesus name Amen!
