…but god… Episode 4

Psalms 78: 3-8

Transcript

“Which we have heard and known, And our fathers have told us. We will not conceal them from their children, But tell to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, And His strength and His wondrous works that He has done. For He established a testimony in Jacob And appointed a law in Israel, Which He commanded our fathers That they should teach them to their children, That the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born, That they may arise and tell them to their children, That they should put their confidence in God And not forget the works of God, But keep His commandments, And not be like their fathers, A stubborn and rebellious generation, A generation that did not prepare its heart And whose spirit was not faithful to God.”

Psalms 78:3-8 NASB1995

When we talk to or about God how often are we praising Him for what He has done? This should be a “no brainer”. But, how often in our prayers do we just ask and ask. Even in our witnessing to others we just tell of His greatness and the sacrifice and resurrection of Christ. If we petition and share in this way we are missing a key element. Asaph, who is speaking for God tells us in verses 3-4 “But tell to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, And His strength and His wondrous works that He has done.” Jesus says in our prayers to praise Him “Our Father in heaven hollowed be your name…” In our prayers, let us Praise Him for what He has done in our lives. Praise Him for the little miracles, the big miracles and the “But God” moments of our lives. In our witnessing let us tell others of our immeasurable gratitude for the blessings God has bestowed upon us each and everyday.

This is how we begin to change the course of the generation. This is how revivals begin. They begin with gratitude and praise and thankfulness to our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Lord, we thank you for the incredible and undeserved gift of the forgiveness of our sins through Christ and His death, resurrection and ascension. We thank you for the love of our family and friends, we thank you that you have provided for our needs. We thank you for our jobs, our school and our parents, children and grandchildren. We will sing to you and praise you forever because you are worthy of praise…! We love and praise you always in Jesus Name Amen.

Blessings and Press In and Press On!
